Gay marriage helps society, author says
Gay marriage should be legalized because it will remedy several social problems stemming from a disregard for marriage, writer Jonathan Rauch said Tuesday in a talk titled "Will Gay Marriage Help or Hurt America's Children?"

"Same-sex marriage is part of the solution to our marriage problem," he said.

Speaking to a near-capacity crowd in Robertson Bowl 16, Rauch said gay marriage would make people take the institution of marriage more seriously and encourage single parents to remarry.

"My belief is that the cultural message that same-sex marriage will send is not that 'anything goes,' but that marriage goes," he said. "Every marriage increases social capital."

1. The only reason gays are not "allowed" to marry today
is because christians hate them. There is nothing christian about keeping two people who love each other from getting married. There is nothing christian about the divorce rate, spousal abuse rate and teen pregnancy rates in "christian" households. Their time would be better spent cleaning up their own households instead of trying to destroy others.

2. Some "so called Christians" hate them.
Many Christians don't & some Christians actually are gay. Or maybe I should say some homosexuals are Christians.

3. Agreed
Its just those that hate get most of the attention. I "hate" it when others try to make laws that have no effect on them.

4. You are so right about the haters getting the attention.
Those that really follow Christ's teaching tend to keep a low profile.
