Public schools and Universities see hiring more gays as way to save money
Edited on Mon Nov-14-05 02:44 PM by IanDB1
Are public universities and other companies in states that outlaw gay marriage actively trying to hire more gays, because gay people are not allowed to have medical coverage for their partners in those states?

Some people say many universities are actually purging heterosexual professors from their schools and granting tenure to more and more gays and lesbians because they know they will never have to grant family medical coverage or family leave to gay people under the laws of those states.

Folks say that the "Marriage Amendments" are actually exposing children to more and more gays and lesbians who have now become cheaper for universities to hire.

In fact, some people say that High School administrators see hiring more gay and lesbian teachers as a way to cut-back on their health insurance costs as well.

Is it true?

Let's debate it in the media for eight weeks and let the public decide.

You don't need a link if your source is "folks" or if "some people say."

My fiancee and I won't be likely to have kids...but I've got cholesterol problems, allergies, a metabolic disorder...and when we get married, she has sleep apnea and allergies...

No health care costs? right...gay people never get sick either, eh?

6. The first thing that happens when states pass anti-gay-marriage laws...
Edited on Mon Nov-14-05 04:36 PM by IanDB1
is that The Alliance Defense Fund and their fellow-travelers immediately start suing public colleges and municipalities to force them to stop providing Domestic Partner Health Coverage. That's a fact.

Yes, gay and lesbian people still get sick. That's a fact, too.

But in states where "Marriage Amendments" have passed, some people say that colleges and high schools are taking advantage of the fact that gay and lesbian people have no legal right to family coverage so that these institutions can save money on health-care coverage.

Folks are saying.
