Gay Chat Mayor: 'I Wish I Hadn't Done It'
http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/11/110105spokane.htm

Mayor James E. West, facing recall over alleged misuse of public office for offering an internship to someone he met in a gay chat room, regrets his online activities but still says he's done nothing wrong.

West is battling cancer while fighting for his political career, marking time while undergoing chemotherapy for colon cancer by editing transcripts for a lawsuit he plans to file — whether or not he survives a special Dec. 6 election over the City Hall sex scandal.

In a wide-ranging interview with The Associated Press, West discussed his health, his future and the circumstances that led to his present political crisis.

Translated from politician speak--I wish I hadn't been caught.

1. He just doesn't get it
"I never stood up any place, in any campaign and said, 'I'll go and vote for gay rights,' and then didn't. That would be hypocritical," he said.

But you DID vote against gay issues while cruising gay chatrooms for barely legal guys ... and that make you not just hypocritical, but a lying piece of shit, too.

3. technically he's right
he didn't say that he would vote for gay rights

I'll give him that one

but I want to know how he can reconcile the fact that he's out there speaking against gay rights while cruising chat rooms

he is a piece of shit
