"Homosexuals" in the national news.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AXAOT_swIE

I dare anyone to find "Gays" in the national news today of this magnitude.

Yes the video is from 1967 but the stigma is still here today like a boil on you ass festering & ready to pop all the blood & puss you can imagine.

2. Gay will always be my word of choice. 'We' claimed that word
To break the pathology of 'homosexual'.

& I will never be 'queer' because I'm not.

3. I'm with you
I realize that the younger folks wear "queer" like a badge and more power to them. The pain and anger at having that word thrown at me and my folk will always be to fresh for me. I refuse to use the word and woe betide the idiot who throws it at me these days.

Gaily yours :)

4. identifying as Bi
What do you all think of identifying yourself as Bi? I am currently struggling with this issue, I think it's an excuse to have an open door if you someone finds themself unhappy in a relationship. I also think a lot of younger people identify themself with this because they aren't comfortable with their true identity...I would like anyone's input on this.

5. I think there are such people as truly "bi" or "pan"
I've known a few who were perfectly comfortable in their own skin. Human sexuality is a spectrum, so perforce it would have to include truly bi or pan people.

Just thinkin' out loud here. Me? I'm pure-dee gay-gay-GAYgaygay.

6. I was 13 when Mike Wallace made that video in1967....if I had seen it then I would have....
given up hope. Thankfully I was blissfully unaware of either the stigma of homosexuality or the fact that I was one.

Have to show that video to my partner tomorrow. He was 18 in 1967. What a horrible world we lived in. The people who say nothing has changed simply don't know how it was.
