Voting Begins In Advance Poll For Texas Anti-Gay Amendment
http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/10/102405txVote.htm

Early voting begins today for people who will be out of the state, or otherwise unavailable, on election day, November 8, and while a total of nine proposed amendments to the constitution are on the ballot the most significant is one that would ban same-sex marriage.

Turnout historically is low for amendment elections in Texas. In 2003, just 12 and a-half percent of registered voters cast ballots. This year, though, both supporters and opponents of the marriage amendment predict a high turnout.
Called Proposition Two, the proposed amendment would define marriage as a union solely of a man and a woman. It would prevent gays and lesbians from marrying and and bar the state from offering civil unions.

1. Mr. Sui The Other Mr. Sui and I will be voting
guess which way

And if I accidentally mow down the Pro-#2 signs on the way to the polling place (and anyone waving one) you can bet I was in my right damn mind when I did it.

2.  Flawed Language Annuls ALL MARRIAGE! Read this:
EVERY Marriage IS AT RISK!
Flawed Language Annuls ALL MARRIAGE!
Read it for yourself

Actual Language the Texas Marriage Amendment would write into the Constitution:

Article 32, Texas Bill of Rights:

(a) MARRIAGE in this state SHALL CONSIST ONLY of the

UNION OF ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN.

(b) THIS STATE or a political subdivision of this state MAY NOT create or

RECOGNIZE ANY LEGAL STATUS IDENTICAL or similar TO MARRIAGE.

BY LEAVING OUT KEY WORDS, LEGISLATORS

ARE INVALIDATING ALL MARRIAGE!

The language is clear:

(a) defines marriage as between one man and one woman

(b) prohibits recognition of (a)

… THEREFORE PROHIBITING RECOGNITION OF

MARRIAGE BETWEEN ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN!

Examples of other states’ language:

Utah: “NO OTHER domestic status or union … is valid or recognized…”

Kentucky: “A legal status identical or substantially similar to that of

marriage FOR UNMARRIED INDIVIDUALS shall not be valid…”

DON’T RISK IT, VOTE AGAINST IT.

3. You would think this would be a "no-brainer" for them...
Just the addition of the word other in:

"(b) THIS STATE or a political subdivision of this state MAY NOT create or

RECOGNIZE ANY OTHER LEGAL STATUS IDENTICAL or similar TO MARRIAGE."

...sigh...

Ah, well...It IS Texas, after all, so there's certainly a high probability that no one there will ever notice...
