Don't believe your lying eyes... according to The Baptist Press
Feel free to read the right-wing shitstain here:

On 'gay marriage' poll results, be skeptical
http://www.bpnews.net/BPnews.asp?ID=35507

one small snippett that particularly ired me:

The impact of "gay marriage" on religious liberty and what is taught in public schools are two key issues, Stanton said.

"In Massachusetts, the Catholic Church has had to get out of the adoption business because Massachusetts wouldn't say, 'We're going to tolerate you only placing kids in opposite-sex homes.' They said, 'If you don't give kids to same-sex homes, then you're discriminating.' So they had to shut down what they were doing," Stanton said.

"... It has been called rhetorically, hate speech to say that children do best raised by their own mother and father. Think about that, and then the implications of that. The gay activists have struck quite a coup, and I think they knew exactly what they were doing."

Homosexual activists, Mohler said, have plenty of willing accomplices in the culture at large.

1. "children do best raised by their own mother and father."
So would you want kids to be raised by Britney and K-fed?

10. Not to mention very few ADOPTED children
are raised by their own birth mother and birth father. Children who are raised by the birth parents are usually not called "adopted".

2. Would the catholic adoption place kids in Jewish homes?
Edited on Thu Jun-09-11 07:51 PM by HockeyMom
Or even a "mixed" couple home? Not unless the adoptive parents promised to raise them as catholic, right? If they want to discriminate with that, or maybe even with divorced and remarried straight couples, then get them OUT OF THE ADOPTION BUSINESS altogether.

The best home for a child is a stable, loving home, regardless of the religion, race, age, or sexual orientation of the couple.

3. I had a great mother and father
I also know others like many of you do that had horrible abusive mother and father parents. I wish that someone would start shutting down these arguments with facts.

I am so sick of the arrogant and hypocritical religous nuts. The Catholic church has no room to talk about anyone living a pure life.

4. if they are best raised by their mother and father,
Then why the fuck is the Catholic Church even in the adoption business, which takes the kids away from their mother and father?
There's no cure for religious stupidity, I guess.

8. Why do they grant annulments? Oh yeah, if not people would leave the
church and that source of funding would be diminished.

5. Funny how that group run by an old man in a dress--
--didn't mention the only reason they "had" to get out of the "biz" is because they couldn't get taxpayer money if they discriminate. "Jesus saves" but must not share His money with those hypocrites. Who could blame him? They'd blow it on pizza parties and sleepovers for altar boys and girls they wanted to touch in that "special" way.

6. Attack on religious liberty...
So your liberty is more important than the religious groups who advocate marriage equality?

7. Did he forget he was arguing about adoption?
Kids up for adoption are inherently not best being raised by their own parents---that's why they are up for adoption. I agree that kids are best raised by their own parents when it is safe for them to be raised that way.

9. Studies have shown time and again that kids and parents
both do best when there are two loving, stable adults heading the family, regardless of gender.

They've also shown that one loving, stable parent is better than two parents when one is dysfunctional.

Idiots.

11. The other lie is
that they "Had to give up". No, they didn't. They could have got off their sanctimonious kkkristian asses, done some real soul searching and, learned the facts, perhaps even read the studies and come to a different conclusion.

But that's not nearly so much fun as playing victim and fanning the flames.

My contempt for the KKKatholic church is matched only by my contempt for republicans.
