LOS ANGELES: Gay Cop Wins $1M Suit

Los Angeles cop Sgt. Ronald Crump has won a $1M judgment in a lawsuit filed against the LAPD because of retaliation he suffered after complaining about anti-gay mistreatment by a superior.

Sgt. Ronald Crump sued the city last year, alleging that his direct supervisor at the Los Angeles Police Department Media Relations Section -- Lt. John Romero -- made derogatory remarks about his homosexuality. Romero, who has since been promoted to captain, allegedly described him as "the new Ruby minus the heels," in reference to the woman he replaced in the unit. On another occasion, Romero allegedly told him, "I was a religion major at Liberty University. Jerry Falwell would roll over in his grave if he knew I had hired you."

If a resume came across my desk that revealed an education at Jerry Folwell's Liberty University, that resume would hit the circular file quicker than you could say "Anita Bryant". Liberty University is a deal-breaker for any hiring decision with me. To much ignorance and hate in the world already.

6. Our former Police Chief down in Palm Springs CA resigned for making derogatory comments about gay

people and then lying about it. John Romero gets promoted to Captain......Romero cannot be trusted to treat people who are gay or who he believes to be gay fairly. He "was a religion major at Liberty University" and is obviously biased in his decision making and now he is a captain with more power and authority to judge others based on his rabid religious views. Captain Homophobe Romero should never have power or authority over others and should be fired now before he costs the City of Los Angeles many more millions in the future. As for Jerry Falwell, he is probably sitting by a nice fire in the alleged Hell.
