“Sinner” Teacher “Dealt With”

A California high school teacher who allegedly called a lesbian student a “sinner” in front of the entire class has been “dealt with,” according to district officials.

“Based on our findings, we have dealt with the employee,” Leslie Ventuleth, the chief human resources officer for the Perris Union High School District chief, told CBS Los Angeles, though she wouldn’t elaborate on how the teacher had been punished.

The Paloma Valley High School teacher, whose name has not been made public, allegedly drew an S on the hand of a student who wore a “Gay Is Good” T-shirt and repeatedly referred to the student as a “sinner” in front of her classmates.

The only way to deal with a person like this is to give them a "pink" slip.

who thinks he has a right to proclaim his religion every time he turns around and that part of the right to procaim his religion is to call anyone of whom he doesn't approve a "sinner". Glad to see the problem has been dealt with.

2. yikes.. talk about sick! that teacher gets to cruelly harass a student in class & keep their job?

If they drew an 'S' on my hand I would have sued the teacher and the school for being supportive of emotional abuse, when I'm there just to get an education - not that teachers wicked viewpoint.

4. I would pull her credential

She shouldn't be allowed to teach in public schools. This person has a right to her religious beliefs but he/she/it crossed the line. Keep your religious beliefs and political opinions out of the classroom. Kids are smart-they can figure out very quickly if you are liberal or conservative or religious or not. You don't have to tell them or let actions define you.

California and Florida have this in common. The large coastal cities tend to be Liberal, the interior cities are like Alabama.

It does not surprise me at all that someone in the interior of either state would get away with something like this with a slap on the wrist.
