Judge to military: Stop discharging gays under 'don't ask, don't tell'
So, DADT has finally been struck down!

It's too bad that it took so long, and its too bad that the DOJ is going to halt the judge's orders. That is just insane!

1. Again, some lessons in law are needed.
The DOJ is not going to "halt the judge's orders." They don't have the legal authority to do anything like that.

They ARE going to appeal the decision, as is required of them by federal law. The next judge to hear it may or may not issue a temporary stay against enforcing the lower court's ruling, until the new court has a chance to hear the case.
