After the accident today I was so disappointed...
Today was a rough day. I had a pretty serious car accident (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=105x9515330 has pictures). We ended up having to have the car towed to the dealer. While getting the paperwork for the rental we were going to have to get the lady asked us, 'relationship'. Paul said, 'he's my husband'. Nothing.

We went to the emergency room. The nurse that was taking my information asked, 'your relationship?' I said, 'he's my husband'. Nothing.

The doctor came in and was asking about power of attorney should something happen. I explained we did not have it but Paul made all choices for me should I be unable to make my own as he was my husband. 'OK.'

Seriously? Come on. I was hoping for a LITTLE reaction. Stop acting like it's something normal and wholesome.

Oh wait. It is. Thank you all for understanding.

5. This is the *REAL* threat you pose to the Religious Reich.
When your relationship with your husband becomes so
widely accepted that it doesn't even raise an eyebrow
anywhere, they will have lost one of their best "red meat"
issues to whip up the willing fools who support them.

And as you have so wonderfully demonstrated, that time
is rapidly coming! Congratulations on that (and sorry it took
a car accident to prove it).

7. So glad that you and your spouse are seen as "normal" ~~ whatever that is!
Question, tho, about your accident: First, so glad you are OK. Second, why the heck did the picker operator have to go to the hospital? Seems like he should have been in an industrial cage operating that piece of equipment and totally protected.

8. The operator...
Was in the cage at the time. The unit he was in had no top on it and he was thrown from the picker to the pavement.

10. Wow....
...that was a bad accident.

Again, so glad you are OK and that you and your husband got the respect that each and every married couple deserves when dealing with accidents and emergencies!
