Quote Of The Day - Tony Perkins: If Obama can't have a lifetime term...
Quote Of The Day - Tony Perkins

"If President Obama can't have a lifetime term, then he knows the next best thing is nominating Elena Kagan to one. She shares the President's disgust for traditional morality, free speech, the military, individual liberty, unborn children, constitutional fidelity, and all things religious.

"It was her rabid pro-homosexual views that led her to restrict military recruitment on Harvard Law School's campus, and, as Solicitor General, to sabotage the defense of our federal marriage law. In both instances, she favored her personal ideology and political calculations over the law. And she may spend 30 more years doing it as a member of America's most powerful court. Elena Kagan was unfit to be Solicitor General, and she definitely doesn't deserve a lifetime promotion to the U.S. Supreme Court. Contact your Senators and tell them to vote 'no' on Kagan." - Family Research Council head crybaby Tony Perkins, throwing a widdle tantrum because the Senate Judiciary Committee approved Kagen's nomination yesterday.

9. LOL... love it! As a progressive human being, and someone who tries my best to live the teachings
of Christ with the homeless, the sick, the forgotten in society, and in my own family, I am thrilled when someone with these views gets placed in a position of influence to push the envelope further! The right wing religious folks are blatantly anti-feminine, anti-gay (well, they're against Gays being OUT, they've no problem with them hiding in a closet, even in their own midst), anti-rights, and pro-control. They would lock up (or worse) Christ if He were back on this Earth again. Here's to Kagan's lifetime appointment! I hope it makes them sick to their stomachs, poor poor religious zealots!

2. I bet the next one he appoints will have those same morals too.
We need good people in the SC like Kagan and Sotomayor.

3. Boo Hoo Hoo they are taking away my right to take away everyone elses rights to
believe differently about the crap I spew as family values even though I don't really follow those beliefs that I want to force on everyone else. Go Kagen! If you upset little Tony then you are doing something right.

4. Tony Perkins is a right wing hate monger
Last time I mentioned him here, I was told that 75% of America agrees with him. They don't.

6. No, but the 30-40% or so that does is bad enough. nt
Particularly since they have an entire political party devoted to opposing anything that isn't them.

5. Kagan is starting to grow on me.
I wasn't all that hot on her at first, but judging by the enemies she's gathering, she may turn out OK.

10. same, however, Obama could nominate someone with conservative views & they'd still say they're
dangerous! They want to do everything they can to stop progressive movement in this country, and more than likely, cried or was filled with sinful anger when Obama won in Nov 08. These people are scary. I really believe it, and they should always be watched, because they're promoting intolerance.

7. Tony Perkins
I still remember, when I was a teenager, seeing Tony Perkins in action. It was the
early 80's in Baton Rouge and he would stand on a box at the north gates of LSU on
Highland road. He positioned himself across the street from the popular college hangouts
The Chimes and the Varsity Theater. He was one of those people who screamed fire and
brimstone damnations at the young patrons of those establishments. Apparently, enjoying
a beer with friends or going to a showing of Rocky Horror is a big sin in his eyes. Seems
he hasn't changed much, except that his box is alot bigger.

8. Emotional hyperbole... hardly a compelling argument
Does Mr. Perkins expect that anyone seriously believes this business of disgust?

"She shares the President's disgust for traditional morality, free speech, the military, individual liberty, unborn children, constitutional fidelity, and all things religious."

Didn't some book speak about the truth setting us free?
