Morning Meme: The "World" Stops Turning, Fox News Attacks Will Phillips, and Brian Burke Made Me Cry


Fox does a hit piece on Will Phillips
As long as we’re talking about made up information, Fox News cobbled together a hit piece on 10-year-old Will Phillips and the Arkansas Pride Parade. They seem to have joined pieces of the CNN interview with pieces from Jon Stewart’s bit last year with wrestler Mick Foley, and claim it’s all happening now, along with hateful statements from Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association, who calls it “child abuse.” Have you sent letters of support to the City Council? Stay out of the comments if you don’t want to have an aneurysm.


Gays ban gays
San Francisco Pride has reportedly banned three gay DJs from the festival in order to keep corporate sponsorship of the event by Clear Channel, the same people who bring Rush Limbaugh to the world.


A father's love
In advance of marching in Toronto Pride in the name of Brendan Burke, Toronto Maple Leafs General Manager Brian Burke did a really great interview. I’m not going to lie to you Marge, it made me cry. This quote alone should melt your heart. “The best thing about when Brendan told me he was gay, I didn’t have to take anything back,” recalls Burke. “I hadn’t made any derogatory comments about gay people, I hadn’t told him they were sick or twisted or God would punish them — some of these absurd things that people say about homosexual people. I didn’t have to take anything back. I said it to him. We were both in tears.”
