Grand Marshals named for NYC pride

Constance McMillen, the Mississippi lesbian, is becoming America’s teen celesbian.

The 18-year-old honor student at Itawamba Agricultural High School who was told she couldn’t take her girlfriend to prom and then won a court case against her school, will be one of the grand marshals and leaders of New York City’s 41st annual Pride March.

“I never dreamed so many people would support my fight to take my girlfriend to the prom, much less that I’d end up being asked to be a Grand Marshal at NYC Pride,” said McMillen, in a news release. “I’m really honored and touched to be asked to be part of this celebration.”

The 4-mile march takes place June 27 and will include 350 groups and 500,000 participants.

Other grand marshals include Lt. Dan Choi and Judy Shepard.
