Should I renew my HRC membership?

I am in a bit of a quandary. I have been so pissed off at HRC lately that I am seriously considering not renewing my membership this year. A lot of issues, but at the end of the day, I don't feel that they are effective and using monies well.

That said, it is not that much money, and one more organization in the battle can't hurt.

1. Money to ESF

My money now goes to the Empowering Spirits Foundation. It's also a 501c3 nonprofit so it's a tax write-off, unlock HRC.

2. I didn't.

I'm going local with my time and money. My area needs to, and is poised to, make great strides in the quality of life of its LGBT citizens and I think my giving does more good that way.

3. Of course not, but that begs the question, to whom should our money go?

HRC is effective, the DNC merely uses us...we need new leadership, and I'm not sure where that's going to come from.

5. Lambda Legal, or the ACLU

They are doing the most to get us equality.

I wouldn't donate a shit-covered penny to the HRC.

Support people who actually DO stuff - like Lambda Legal. Or your local folks.
