Blizzard honors LGBT guild in World of Warcraft
Given how homophobic the atmosphere can be in online gaming, Blizzard deserves kudos here for promoting tolerance and respect in the most popular online game currently running:

1. Though Blizz deserves kudos indeed, Wow.com is not a Blizzard site.
They're part of the Joystiq collective of blogs. (I visit the site regularly.) Blizz defintely does take proactive steps towards making GLBT gamers included in the game and is very aggressive at penalizing homophobes.

3. Whoops
I assumed wow.com was affiliated with them. Still, it's nice to see the recognition on a popular WoW site.

2. Dragon Age: Origins (not online) gives props too.
The Gay couple running the Armor store in the capital had me in stitches...

4. I cannot wait to play that
It's going to be my Christmas present to myself. I've heard nothing but good things about it from fellow LGBT gamers.

5. You'll like it. I had to turn down the gay NPC's pick up line with a friendly laugh
but you may enjoy Zerevan's company far more than I!

No matter what you do, Morrigan will not approve.

6. Do you have it for PC?
I've been considering buying it. If you have it for PC, can you tell me what kind of rig would really be needed to run it?

7. Of course. It's for PC, XB360, and PS3.
You will need a strong rig though.

9. I've always wanted to try WOW
I'm a huge single player gamer but have never done multiplayer in my life. I'd love to try WOW with other GLBTers but I'm afraid I'd be scorned as a total newb.

10. I wouldn't worry about it. Everyone starts out as a newb.
Some suggestions though-
1) Do NOT ask people for Gold. It's rude and will get you scorned quicker than anything else.
2) If in a world chat, only ask for a group once every 10 minutes or so. Do not repeatedly spam it. If no one answered, it's because no one is interested at that time.
3) Be polite and for god's sake, speak like a human being. Some slang is fine, but nobody likes someone who writes like a 5 year old hyped up on sugar.
4) Roll Alliance. Horde is for loserz. (Just kidding. Kinda)

Other than that, have a fun, and remember, if anyone gives you any kind of grief, you are paying just as much as they are for your subscription.

14. addendum:
1 - rude yes, but some players are nice and might take pity on a player that asks politely. i usually do.
2 - get into a guild asap, they are more willing to help you party and level, and raid with you. better you go with some people you know, that a bunch of snotty tweener twinks. i seem to attract those type of players...
3 - trade chat is for all major cities. if you ask someone to help you with something, please tell them what city you're in
4 - bite me. the alliance are wankers, especially gnomes. though when cataclysm comes out this summer, the alliance get a new race... of werewolves... lucky bastards. horde gets stuck with goblins. oh joy.

everyone does start out as a newbie. the trick is to 1 - not act like one, and 2 - not stay one for long.

11. Not at all
There are a lot of LGBT guilds out there, particularly on Proudmoore, that are very laid back and more social oriented. They have players new to the game joining all the time.

16. I pretty much play all by myself on Staghelm ;_;
3.3 will be adding cross-realm instances, though! http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/underdev/3p3/newdungeonsystem.xml

13. Try Guild Wars before you try WoW
Guild Wars doesn't have a subscription fee. You buy it once and play it online forever. It's a good starter into MMORPGs.

18. I actually got a bit bored with that one
but then again, I don't do much grouping in games. Only game where I felt comfortable grouping a lot in was EQ, back in the days when EQII had started so the only people left playing were the ones who played because they actually ENJOYED it, and liked hanging out with people and doing the stuff in that game. Even so, it still depended on server and area as to whether it was worth grouping or not.

I miss my Froglok paladin though. Ah, how time flies. :)
