Transgender woman fired from state job sues... read what her boss said...
From today's AJC: http://www.ajc.com/news/atlanta/hired-as-a-man-186360.html

She worked for the state legislature (you know...those who make the laws?) and said it was time for her to stop leading a dual existence.

Her boss, Georgia Legislative Counsel Sewell Brumby, (WTF kind of doofus name is that?) saw it differently.

“It makes me think about things I don’t like to think about, particularly at work … I think it’s unsettling to think of someone dressed in women’s clothing with male sexual organs inside that clothing,” said Brumby, in a deposition taken May 11th in U.S. District Court in Atlanta. He's among the defendants in a federal suit filed by Glenn that claims her former employers violated the Constitution's equal protection clause.

Ole Sewell goes on to say...

“I think some members of the legislature would view that taking place in our office as perhaps immoral, perhaps unnatural, and perhaps, if you will, liberal or ultra-liberal
,” he said.

Once again, my state shames me. Ms. Glenn, I am sorry and hope you beat the fuck out of them. And Sewell? STOP OBSESSING over people's genitals.

1. Ugh
“It makes me think about things I don’t like to think about, particularly at work … I think it’s unsettling to think of someone dressed in women’s clothing with male sexual organs inside that clothing,”

Maybe you should spend more time thinking about your work and less time thinking about what people have under their clothing, you asshole.

3. +1
Yeah, why are you thinking about what your co-workers have inside their clothes? I don't spend my time dwelling on my co-workers' sexual or gender identities.

4. Then again, we're not RRRWers
They seem to have a peculiar obsession with genitals, sex, and the sex lives of others (real or imagined--especially imagined).

You would HAVE to fantasize about someone else's to keep from getting depressed.

Must have been sleeping through all those classes on the Civil Rights Act etc.

Hey bud, no one MAKES you think about anything. That's your CHOICE. Take personal responsibility.

7. "...if you will, liberal or ultra-liberal"
As if that is the ultimate evil incarnate on the planet, being "liberal". I am so tired of hate, tired of liberal being a bad word.

Cheer up in Georgia, it's this bad in Kentucky too, and it gets a lot colder here.

8. Unbridled ignorance in print.

I've run into a few blatant homophobes who manage to get to the genital comments quickly. They don't seem to realize how revealing
(no pun intended) that is about their thoughts.

Best wishes to Ms. Glenn.

9. Does anyone else think it is odd that he says he thinks about the sexual organs of his coworkers?
Sounds like sexual harassment to me and he admits it!

13. Here's another photo of her...
...IMO, she is a real doll! And I hope she wins and gets her job back. From the articles I read, she seems like a really nice person who did what was needed to be done to be who she really is.

Best of luck, Vandy! :hi:

14. They get more creative as they go along, don't they?
It's like saying, I'm not prejudice, but having you around makes me think about things that might see me in that light.
