1. Almost none .
I do like some of "the girls": k.d. lang an Melissa Etheridge for instance.

But everybody likes them... don't they?

Does Tchaikovsky count?

2. Freddie Mercury without a doubt
followed by Elton John and George Michael.

Freddie & MJ - sound is a little bit muffled : think it's a bootleg. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdPb1Xw_qvI

always reminds me of someone influenced by Janis Joplin and doing a poor imitation of Bonnie Tyler : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIup5g0nCQQ&feature=related

17. Yeah, that's definitely a boot.
If I remember correctly, Freddie recorded two songs with Michael. The other was "State of Shock", but neither of them were properly finished, and "State of Shock" eventually was re-recorded with Mick Jagger instead of Freddie.

Here's the original....... (also a boot)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9_BwMtPeWU

Mick's version was very close to Freddie's. You have to listen pretty close to notice the difference, actually.

36. This Video
While not actually GLBT (I don't think) the pro gay marriage/equal rights message at the end of this "religious" video I found to be inspiring. I will admit to being partial to non-discriminating deities. <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4cUdMeT8sQ>

7. Elton saved my life one night...
so Reg takes the cake among the living. I am with other posters on that, and also from the past masters list, Freddie Mercury, who was the most amazing live performer I have ever seen. Elton also amazing live, I've seen him do 4 hours and more. Seen him solo, with orchestras, with bands, in tiny clubs and huge stadiums.
Those two guys were the spine of my teenaged life. And Bernie Taupin as well, for those words in Elton's songs. Those magic words. When I say Elton, I have to say Bernie. And when I say Freddie, I have to say Brian, John and Roger too.

13. Many- for different reasons....
Edited on Wed Jul-15-09 09:12 AM by SacredCow
I like most of the women artists (Indigo Girls, Tegan & Sara, Melissa Etheridge, etc...)

As for the more poppy offerings- I enjoy the B-52s and the Scissor Sisters at times.

Elton John is classic, of course...

George Michael and Frankie Goes To Hollywood feed my 80's self...

I'd love to see Pansy Division live- they look like they put on an entertaining show.

Oh, and on edit- My favorite band during my formative years was undoubtedly The Smiths.

41. Pretty sure they were just friends
but Kurt wouldn't give a shit about such rumors. He would have spread them himself, just to piss off all the homophobes back home in Aberdeen. (like the dressing in drag on the "In Bloom" video or kissing Dave Grohl on SNL.)

Lovely people as well, I've "officially" met them three times, as well as running into the lead singer at Pride.

If you like energetic indie-rock, you'll love them.

28. The Ditty Bops
http://www.thedittybops.com/

They and their music are absolutely adorable. :)

Here's a photo I made of them when they were in Santa Cruz a couple years ago. They're coming back on the 26th. :bounce:

Oh — Amanda's dressed as a carrot and Abby as an artichoke. I've forgotten the exact reason for that, but they're very green. On this tour, they promoted non-use of plastic bags, and they did their prior tour on bicycles.

Also, they got married during Kollyforniya's "window." :D
