I just wish to add my voice to the ocean of voices who are similarly stupefied (to put it politely) by what happened today in California. My heart goes out to my GLBT brothers and sisters, and there is NO WAY this ruling will stand. It is wrong on so many levels, and it is only a matter of time until this shame is behind us.
We will keep fighting, and fighting with you. There's no going back, because right is right.
This seemed to me like it would be a slam dunk, legally and otherwise; the Atty General and Governor of the state urged that Prop 8 be promptly reversed and relegated to the scrap heap of unlawful propositions.
It's so shocking to see California--where I grew up and was educated and worked for a decade, and once famous for being a progressive state--so shamefully antiquated on the issue of basic rights for a minority group.
It's beyond shameful. Words fail me.
The fight is not over, and you have a sea of supporters out here willing to contribute in any and all ways to remedy this preposterous failure of justice.
EDIT for clarity of emotion and typos.
