Gay Books Given To Oklahoma City Libraries By Community

Copies of two critically acclaimed books have been given to the Oklahoma City School Board despite objections by social conservatives.

The move comes just weeks after Oklahoma City's Library Commission started removing books about gay families from the Children's Section of its libraries following an outcry at the legislature over LGBT themed books.

Last month the Oklahoma House of Representatives passed a resolution calling on public libraries to remove children's' books with references to gay characters or reorientations of gay families. (story)
