Will the pro-GLBT or anti-GLBT side be classified as “HOMEGROWN TERRORISM”, H.R. 1955 & S. 1959
Text of H.R. 1955: Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007
(3) HOMEGROWN TERRORISM- The term `homegrown terrorism' means the use, planned use, or threatened use, of force or violence by a group or individual born, raised, or based and operating primarily within the United States or any possession of the United States to intimidate or coerce the United States government, the civilian population of the United States, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives.

Text of S. 1959: Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007

2. I do have a point. Both bills can be used to intimidate either side of the GLBT struggle that has
raged here on DU in the past few days.

We can get so focused on an issue that we can lose contact with bills that might pass unnoticed in congress.

It appears the bills I cited can be used against either side of the GLBT issue and perhaps we should question whether the bills are proper.

I sincerely do not wish to stir the pot but I do want to flag two bills that IMO give the executive branch too much power.
