Our governor is PA. is now known as Governor Gashole because of his refusal to consider a basic extraction tax on our rapidly growing natural gas industry. Every other state with a gas industry already has that tax.

Meanwhile, Corbett is showing his complete disdain for all forms of public education, including a 50% to 55% cut in all state funding of state universities and a 15% cut in state funding to poor urban school districts. He is moving ahead in phases towards a massive voucher system for school students, that eventually would even allow kids in the richest districts to get tax money to attend an expensive private school.

There is much public uproar about the resulting layoffs of teachers, increases in college tuition, increasing class sizes, and increased local property taxes on the PA. part of DU at the following link:

My poor urban school district just approved the elimination of 249 teaching positions last night - which is a 17% reduction.

Warren Kampf (I kid you not, what a name! Oy!) I hope that someone from PA organizes something to go down with WI and march on Washington to show support for the teachers and education in general. My 70 yr old mother is completing her BA at a state school, and the go 60 program will be slashed, you can bet on it. Feck the old people, the teachers and the kids: Corbett is a bookend of Gov. Krispy Kreme across the river in Jersey. :wtf:
