Todd's mandatory minimum that wasn't mandatory
Sure it's dated news but his father, Randy "Duke" Cunningham R-CA, has been exposed as an alleged bribe taker.

Thought we might revisit how the privleged elite are held accountable:

Drugs: Hypocrite or Cruel?
(written from the first person as if the author is the "duke-stir")

As you probably know, my son Todd Cunningham received a 2 1/2 year federal prison sentence for marijuana smuggling. He was caught flying in 400 pounds of Marijuana bricks (worth $200,000.00) in a twin-engine plane (like father like son), then selling the pot to two other men. My son might have received a lighter sentence if he didn’t test positive for cocaine three times while on bail. When an officer tried to apprehend him after the third positive test, my son hurled himself out a window and broke his leg. You may know I favor stiff drug penalties and that I voted for the death penalty for major drug dealers.

Of course, my son’s exempt, and I pleaded for letting him off at the trial. My son got 30 months (half the federal “mandatory” minimum). But they should kill everyone else who qualifies. After all, isn’t that a lot cheaper than prevention programs or sissy treatment clinics? Some people say I’m hypocritical, others say I’m stupid, still others say I’m mean. You decide.
