Also, I got some comments about Mandatory Minimums into a local Public Radio call in recently. There was a Jesuit who has been working with gangs around L.A. for a long time. He responded to my call by saying how unjust they are and observing that judges from both ends of the spectrum think they are wrong.

For a joint? Shit, slap a $100 fine, take the pot, and tell them to move along. Why not go after rapists, terrorists, or even hard drug dealers?
