in Light of aLL the upsets this weekend
i expect the brackets to be shaken up some.

so who wiLL get the #1 seeds now?

which bubbLe teams do you think wiLL get in, or be forced out?

any sLeepers you Like?

i Like UCF (centraL fLorida) to win the first round (unLess they're matched up against a monster).
hoLy cross is being taLked up (if they make it?) since they've made it to the dance a few years now, and they'LL probabLy be pLaying on their home court.

as usuaL, i expect to see many a smaLL-mid major team get shafted for a mediocre/crappy big-name schooL.

1. If Illinois isn't the no. 1 seed overall theres something wrong
They lost yesterday, but that should have no bearing at all on their seed. So Illinois in the Midwest, no. 1 overall, North Carolina in the Southeast, Wake Forest in the east or west, and Boston College in the east or west. Watch out for UConn as they are rolling right now. Of course, a lot depends on the conference tournaments. Example-The Missouri Valley Conference where Southern Illinois got beaten yesterday but should definitely be in the NCAA's, Wichita State who has a good record but lost yesterday, may not make it. Tonights winner between Southwest Missouri State and Creighton will be in, but may not deserve it. Just an example, there will be others as well most likely.

2. Mine (keep in mind this is pre conference tournament)
Edited on Mon Mar-07-05 12:17 PM by ThorsHammer
Illinois is easily the overall #1: 29-1 is damn good, even if it's in a relatively weaker conference, and they rolled over both Wake and Gonzaga in OOC games.
UNC #2: The Santa Clara loss is inexplicable, but it was the first game of the year. Losses to Dook and Wake are nothing to be ashamed of, and they split the series with both.
Wake #3: They've had a few puzzling losses, but are still clearly a top seed. IMO, they also seem like the type of high seed that could get bounced early.
BC #4: This spot could also go to Duke if they win the ACC tournament and BC doesn't do well in the BET.

#2 seeds: Duke (BC in the above scenario), Kentucky, Louisville, and the Kansas/OSU winner in the Big 12.

Sleepers: UConn, who is finally starting to click; GaTech, who has the talent and experience, but has inexplicably struggled this year; UCLA, who is talented but young; and UW, who has slid under the radar.
EDIT: Add Oklahoma to the sleeper list. They are a talented team who will play hard and will be ready come tournament time.

3. UNC v Santa Clara
UNC did not have their starting PG - Felton.

But they are still worthless bastards!

:P

ain't gonna happen. even if BC wins the big east tourney, i don't think they'LL get a #1 seed.

7. I think BC can get one (this is coming from an ND fan too)
Their record is still very impressive, especially for (IMO) the toughest conference. If they can win the BET, I think they will get a #1 seed by default. Illinois has one locked up, and UNC is more or less a lock as well. Wake is also likely, but will be w/o Paul in their first ACC game. Kansas has been imploding recently and should not be one, with something like 3 losses in their last 5 games. IMO, the last #1 (might end up being 2 #1s, if Wake falls and the other 2 win out) is between BC and UK.

Pitt would definitely be a team to keep an eye on, especially if the refs let them play. I think they're the type of team that could take out an Illinois or Wake. However, they could be in trouble if the games are called tightly
