Lincecum mows down the Marlins
Tim throws 7 1/3 innings of 2 run 3 hit baseball, improving his record to 5-1 as the Giants take 2 of 3 from the overmatched Marlins....

:woohoo:

Attendance: 11,505

2. I was watching the game
lets see..that makes the Giants 29-26 (winning 9 of 12) and since the Pirates lost they are 26-30.

I have some good news for you though..going into tonight the Prates were less than 1000 fans behind the Marlins in per game attendance and tonight's minuscule LandShark Stadium crowd will only reduce that deficit further. Think of it, one day soon the Pirates may escape the cellar and move up to 29th place.

3. Which puts the Giants at 8.5 back
The Pirates are 6.5 back and the Marlins are 7 back.

Your fascination with other divisions and attendance is quite funny---

Thing is---when your team sucks like the Giants do---you really got nothing else...now do you?

Douche

4. You forgot something
it's called the wild card...and presently the Giants are only 1 game back.

I don't blame you for discounting attendance...I mean what else can you do other than hide your head in shame.

BTW, it seems rather odd that the Marlins would have cheerleaders, I believe they're the only team in MLB to do so...and what in the heck are hot tubs doing down the right field line?

7. Is that why trumad
is so obsessed with cheerleaders? "we are the Marlins, the mighty mighty Marlins..."

8. They probably bring in the cheerleaderst to count them in the
attendance figures.

I wonder if the stadium workers are included in the attendance?

6. You have a ret*arded definition of "sucks" if you think a team with a record
of 29-26 sucks.

The Giants have arguably the best pitching staff in Major League Baseball.

I'm pretty sure you have to be under .500, like Florida is, to suck.

5. Jon Miller was mocking the crowd tonight. I was listening in the car,
when Lincecum struck out with one out and a runner at third.

Hardly anyone applauded, even though it was a big out keeping a run from scoring with the Giants already up 3-0.

Miller went on and on about how nobody cared and how maybe they really aren't fans per se in attendance, but merely visitors. LOL

A few minutes later, he said in a real serious voice, and tonight's paid attendance brought to you by such and such sponsor, 11-thousand five hundred and five (in that real serious Jon Miller voice). But it looks more like five hundred and five.

This went on and on with Dave Fleming and I almost had to pull over because I was laughing so hard.

So it's not just DUers who mock the pathetic attendance situation. So do the professionals.

I mean seriously, 11,505 on a Sunday night with the Cy Young Award throwing?

Oh that's right, it was raining. How miserably bitter those tropical thunderstorms have to be to endure. I mean the South Florida temperatures dip way down into the lower 70's when those clouds come through. It's just like Alaska. :eyes:

9. Do you guys honestly think that the Giants are a draw in other ballparks?
When I but Mets tickets I usually look for Atl, NYY, Phi or Stl.

I don't really care about the west coast teams.

10. A question if I may
why are you rooting for the Mets when living in Boston?

As for the Giants drawing power, during the Bonds years the Giants were one of the top draws in baseball. Since Barry is no longer with the team, there's bound to be a bit of a drop off....but the Giants will always be a big draw in NY, and when they start winning again the rest of the country will follow suit.
