1. My heart is broken....my favorite team is on the skids...

My beloved Minardi.

Evil Ferarri won't let them run. Like Minardi is any threat to them.

All I can hope is that Kimi or Jensen or JPM will kick Schumacher's ass.

4. They got their car up to 2005 specs...
raced, and finished in the 17th and 20th spots. (Heidfeld and M Schumacher had a collision knocking them out of the race which enabled Friesacher who actually finished the race to place ahead of them.)

2. I never watch racing, but
if I did, it would definitely not be NASCAR!! F1 has cars that are far more sophisiticated with far more sophisticated tracks requiring much higher levels of driver skill. I would also consider rally car racing interesting because of the rugged terrain the cars drive on. I guess I never took enough interest in cars to really watch any of thsi though!

7. Rally drivers are the BEST in the world, IMHO
It's a hard sport to watch but if you can see it up close it's wicked awesome!

These are some of the most talented drivers, by far.

5. 'Twas a disappointment for us Villeneuve fans.
Started in the 4th position and finished in 13th.

I'm still awaiting reports to see what went wrong. :-(

6. He got a poor start
He dropped way back at the start and never seemed to recover.

I fell asleep before the finish so I'm not sure if anything else contributed to his 13th place finish.

I LOVE the new tire rule though!!! And the fact that Schumi (Michael) was a DNF! Yahoooooo

8. But even after the start he faded
After the smoke cleared from the start he was still in 8th or 9th position, then throughout the race he kept losing ground. If Schumi hadn't cut Heidfeld off, those guys would have been in front of Jacques and he would have placed 15th. In this TSN article he complains about the car being slow and not getting enough grip, but teammate Massa was able to move up to 10th after starting in 18th.

Oh well. It's only the first race. Hopefully things will start looking up in the next few.
