MANCHESTER – Brian Dopirak clobbered the Defenders in a career night, leading the Fisher Cats to an 18-6 slugfest win at Merchantsauto.com Stadium last night.

The hulking slugger homered twice, doubled twice, tripled and finished with eight RBIs in the 5-for-6 outing. All eyes were on Dopirak in the eighth inning to see if he'd single for the first-ever cycle in franchise history.

He doubled, leaving him with a mere 15 total bases, easily the best single-game hitting performance in Fisher Cats history. Dopirak felt zen-like at the plate, so calm that he might as well have been reading a poem instead of ripping a baseball.
