Manny Ramirez suspended 50 games for "performance enhancing drugs"
Just Manny being Manny, I guess.

I heard this about 10 minutes on "The Herd" on ESPNU.
Now, it's breaking on ESPN and ESPN2.

1. I've been wondering about Big Papi lately.
Supposedly the wrist is better, but he can't hit to save his life anyways. Makes one wonder. He certainly has good people hitting behind him in Youk and/or Bay...so what's the deal?

As for Manny, he's a dildo anyways, so this just adds to his charm. :puke:

2. Papi doesn't have the power anymore...he's slimmed down to last
longer (his career, that is) but apparently the bulk gave him power...that said, it would not surprise me, since he's been linked with that DR doctor who agve A-Fraud the roids.

Ramirez, a baseball source told SI.com, explained to baseball officials he was uncertain he was taking a banned substance and may have had a medical reason for using the substance. After consultation with the Major League Baseball Players Association and his representatives, Ramirez has decided not to challenge the suspension, according to an MLBPA statement.

The source said the substance was not classified as a steroid but was clearly defined as a banned performance enhancer according to the drug agreement between baseball and its players association. Banned substances can only be taken with prior knowledge and medical clearance from baseball's drug-program administrators. Such exceptions are known as Therapeutic Use Exemptions, or TUEs. The suspension is an indication Ramirez did not have a TUE for the substance.

Anyone found using should be banned. I'm not surprised.

5. Athletes should be banned for taking legitimate drugs for legitimate medical problems?
I don't see the sense in that.
