7. Nope. Louisville beat 16, 9 and 12 seeds. They were ripe.

I didn't think we would manhandle them in the second half, but they folded. MSU beat Pac 10 tournament champ USC and Big 12 regular season champ Kansas to get there. U-Conn will be tough, but depth will again prevail, and at Ford Field? You betcha.

Plus, Digger Phelps is already all U-Conn, and he is to sports predictions what Bill Kristol is to political predictions.

6. Actually, not just that, but their depth is special. They are coming together at the right time.

Anybody who saw today's game knows that they can beat anybody. As far as great pickin', I had stinkin' Memphis in the Final Four, largely on the basis of how they stomped State last year. Oh well. NC over Villanova, MSU over Connecticut and NC, and you heard it here first.

They looked like shit today and won by 12 over a tough Sooner team. I'd hate to see these guys when they're firing on all cylinders. And, I don't think we have, yet.

10. They are all tall orders now. No disrespect to NC.

This is March, not December. NC is the most talented team left, Nova and UC included. They knocked us out (hard) in the Final Four in 2005. But you can't "look like shit" this time of year, and NC has coasted. Oklahoma was a johnny one-note team, and depth prevails now. Who knows? This is just great for the battered state of Michigan, and I hope we get an MSU-NC final. Then we'll see.
