ragers in, but continue to keep Pete Rose out. Pete Rose, the greatest allround player to ever play the game.

23. Honestly the question with Rose is if he actually bet AGAINST his team...
Betting on his team showed that he had confidence in his guys which isn't nearly as bad as anyone makes it out to be. Betting against them means he could have affected their ability to win by pulling pitchers or positional players in certain situations.

4. Something Good and Calming to think about
The Greatest Home Run Hitter Ever, Mike Schmidt entered the Hall 14 years ago this year and Mike will turn 60 in September. Would you like to be a member of the DU Committee to turn his Birthday into a National Sports Holiday? As it should be! 548 substance free home runs and a guilt free career to be envied by anyone who has to hit against today's pitchers. Surely this makes you feel better.

6. Hey Boss, on a totally unrelated subject, are you familiar with the history of
Little Rock, AR?

I have a question for you, if you are.

5. McGwire has been at the board 3 times.
Got 21.6%, 23.6%, and 23.5%. You need 75% for entrance.

9. Rose should get in ......
posthumously.

The man could hit, field, and run the bases w/ the best of 'em but
every day he walkede by a sign that said if you bet on baseball you will
be banned for life. As manger of the Reds he bet on his team except when
certian pitchers were pitching for the reds ... this inside info helped the
mob bet baseball and "control the line" for a 2 years.

BTW what Rose said and did to Bart Giamatti showed the class of rat's ass.

10. What about Rodney Harrison and Shawne Merriman?
Should they not be allowed to play football? They used the same stuff, you know.

12. If you're going to punish baseball players for steroids, why not football players too?
They used the stuff, they should pay the same price.

They have rigorous testing and many players have been caught and suspended.

14. I'm talking about Hall of Fame consideration.
If steroids or other illegal performance enhancing drugs are a consideration for keeping baseball players out of their sport's Hall, it should be the same across the board.

15. Agree---but we haven't had that occur in football.
If a player who was busted for steroids is busted in the NFL---and they are Hall of Fame worthy--- that should be a consideration. That hasn't happened yet.

16. What do you think of Harrison as a test case, then?
Remember, he served a 4-game suspension for HGH. Recent rumors have him sounding like a http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/rumors/post/Rodney-Harrison-sounds-like-a-man-ready-to-retir?urn=nfl,137994">man ready to retire, though that's a rumor article from Yahoo sports, so your mileage may vary.

Is that going to affect his chances?

I'm inclined to think it should, but won't.

17. I used to be a huge McGwire fan
but I was done with him when he lied. McGwire, Palmeiro, Bonds...none of them should be in the Hall. And there should be a big fat asterix next to Bonds' name in the record book. I always make sure to boo him extra loudly when I go to one of his games.

Pete Rose shouldn't go either.....as a manager. But he certainly deserves to go as a player. For what he did ON the field he should not only be inducted into the Hall IMMEDIATELY, he should be recognized as one of the greatest players to ever take the field. Remember, Babe Ruth's off-field conduct was arguably worse than Rose's.

19. Rose deserves to be in as a player only. His managerial record,
excluding the gambling, was average at best.

20. Pete Rose is a scumfuck piece of shit
I used to be in the crowd that wanted him let in, until he just admitted he gambled for the sole purpose of getting un-banned. He shows no contrition or regret whatsoever, he is a whore of the highest order...I cannot stand the man anymore.

22. If they haven't let Joe Jackson in after all these years when...
...there was really no proof that he bet on the game, they will never let Rose in with proof that he bet on the game.
