Alonzo Mourning Retiring
http://www.palmbeachpost.com/localnews/content/sports/epaper/2009/01/22/0122alonzo.html

Alonzo Mourning, perhaps the greatest player in Miami Heat history, announced his retirement Thursday afternoon in a news conference at AmericanAirlines Arena.

Mourning, 38, is a likely Hall of Fame selection who spent the majority of his career - roughly 11 full years of his 15 seasons - with Miami.

Mourning has long been one of the NBA's and South Florida's most charitable and caring athletes. His Overtown Youth Center, located in the inner-city Miami neighborhood of Overtown, has been thriving for years.

Mourning sent a busload of 50 children and chaperones from the OYC to President Barack Obama's inauguration. Mourning, who has been outspoken on issues from organ donation to education, also attended the inauguration.

3. Miami Mourns Mourning.
Their copy writer sucks. :P

And Mourning sucks too for waiting until the afternoon to announce it...

"You're built too low. The fast ones go over your head. Ya got a hole in your glove. I keep pitchin' 'em and you keep missin' 'em. Ya gotta keep your eye on the ball. Eye. Ball. I almost had a gag, son. Joke, that is."
