2. I thought Jeff "Gannon" Guckert was #1??
Oh, different category.

Guckert is DU's #1 conservative idiot of the week - see home page.

3. Easy 84-48 victory over Northwestern at Assembly Hall.
Dee Brown scores 20 points. Luther Head chipped in 14 points and Deron Williams contributed 13 with six assists in the victory. Illinois dream of an unbeaten season is still alive and well..

4. and they deserve it
while the Bg Ten isn't as strong as I would like it to be, it's still tough to go undefeated in ANY conference. For their sake though, they should really lose before getting into the NCAA, that way they have a loss out of the way and the pressre is off.

7. I haven't seen a college team like this one in years. The NCAA
tournament is a real test for any team, but I think they have the best shot at winning it.

9. I hope they play Syracuse early. What are they ranked 17th?
Illinois already beat the 4th ranked team Wake Forest in early December.

12. Like When They Played Wake Forest?
Or when they played Maryland? Or when they played Wisconsin in their own gym?

Methinks you need to actually watch the Illini. They have the best set of guards in the country. They have athletic and quick big men in Powell and Augustine (not huge, but active and smart). They play defense better than anybody in the nation. Everyone has an off-night shooting, but defense is a constant.

Syracuse is a fine team. But i think you underestimate Illinois.

14. I think Illinois is a very good team but I think
the Cuse played a tougher sked.

The Big East is the second best conference in the nation, imo.

11. Illini are lookin' tough. I'm really hoping that we (Kansas) will play
Edited on Sun Feb-27-05 09:31 PM by Scout1071
them in the NCAA. I'm lucky enough to have season tickets to the jayhawks and today's game versus OK State was un-freakin-believable. During the final 2 seconds, I became so overwhelmed that I literally only had time to see if the last shot fell and quickly to turn around to see where I could fall/sit because I almost passed out from the excitement. Starting to see the tunnel if you know what i mean. And I'm a perfectly healthy 33 year old woman! I've probably been to 100+ Jayhawk games and it was as loud as I've ever heard it.

Anyway, back to point - Illini are rockin'. Good luck thru the tourney (until the they meet us in the Final Four) and I hope that we see you in St. Louis!
