49ers retain Singletary
Edited on Sun Dec-28-08 07:55 PM by Upton
The 49ers announced after their 27-24 victory over the Redskins that Mike Singletary will remain as their head coach. Singletary said that the contract is for four years.

This is a great move, the niners have looked like a different team since he took over. Look for them to contend for the division next year.

1. And did he earn it. Hard to tell it was the same team.
Now get a new GM and dump the Yorks.

2. Unfortunately the Yorks appear to be in it for the long haul
they just named Jed York team president. Man, do I miss the days when Eddie was running things.

4. You know, you'd think the Yorks would be satisfied with the
surprising success of Singletary.

But hell no.

They have to push the envelope ... dicking with the already tainted York football gene pool by naming another incompetent member of their jackass family.

Everything is lining up for a 5-11 season next year because they just don't know when to stop. :puke:

3. He did a great job in the second half of the season.
I look for them to be contenders in the West in a big way next season. At least if he can find someone who wants to be the starting QB.

5. They certainly looked like a different team down the stretch.

Even when they lost it wasn't for lack of effort. This is a good move...which I'm sure the owners will fuck up somehow.

7. This was the best news...
I am so happy for him, and happy that the Niners have a chance to do well
next year. Yay!
