Phils are good with the current plan to resume play tonight at eight eastern (or not depending on the weather.) Rays had checked out of their Hotel on Monday and had to find a new place to reside. Mother nature has a wacky sense of humor.

1. You know
over the last several years I've thought baseball should go back to a 154 game season to move things up at least a week. It would at least give the players a better chance of playing the game the way it was meant to be played............. dry! :)
Also, can we all still wish that they'd consider scheduling at least one or two games during the day? Nothing like a day baseball game to make me feel truly blessed!

2. MLB, the NHL, and the NBA all need to trim their seasons.
And of course they never will because that would mean less money. Never mind that half the season is a snooze fest.

3. And
NASCAR runs from February through November. And there have been a lot more empty seats this season then in previous years. Season cut backs would be an idea to consider for those you mentioned as well.

5. My idea is that the NFL should trim its seaon
It should not start until the world series is over and must be complete by the time the NBA begins.

8. The 15th and 16th games are just for TV. You know, the inevitable "SuperBowl rematch" games etc. nt

9. They're talking of doing just the opposite, and expanding to 18 games.
Why tamper with perfection?

10. By reducing preseason from four to two
I think that's a workable possibility without extending the current season. (If they cut out two preseason games) and start the regular season two games earlier.

11. That's the only aspect I like about this idea.
Preseason is pretty lame.

12. In my idealistic view of the universe
preason games (one home and one away) would be used as charity events for an entity in the home teams town. But I guess the team and the league and the players couldn't afford to contemplate such communism.

13. Now that's an awesome idea.
But then again, socialism and communism have never really bothered me much. :)

4. So, BOSSHOG, are you complaining that the Rays have to play in a cold weather
city?

Hmmm. Imagine an SEC team having to play in teh north against a Penn State in Happy Valley.

:)

6. Is that an attempt at humor??
Actually I don't believe the weather in Philadelphia monday would have kept an SEC team from winning in Happy Valley. Speaking of cold, its 35 degrees this morning 25 miles north of the Gulf of Mexico.

I hope Penn State wins the national title this year. JOPA should go out in a big way. I read that recruits are being told there will be a new coach next year.

7. Baseball needs more regular season double headers or day night double headers-
to shorten the season's calendar. The game is played all year in temperatures over 85 degrees then you have a championship in 40 degrees?

Stupid
