Legace injured after tripping over the carpet for VP candidate Palin
Edited on Sat Oct-25-08 06:15 AM by trumad
The Flyers lost 3 straight after Palin dropped the puck for them---LOL

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Blues goalie Manny Legace left after one period Friday night with a hip injury that occurred when he slipped on the carpet placed on the ice for Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

The Alaska governor dropped the ceremonial first puck before the Blues hosted the Los Angeles Kings. A narrow carpet walkway was placed from the gate at the Blues bench to center ice for Palin, her husband and two of her daughters.

Just before the ceremony, Legace was the first player onto the ice for St. Louis. A team official pointed to the carpet. But Legace said the official moved his own foot from the carpet just as Legace stepped down, causing the carpet to slide.

Legace fell, then gingerly made his way to the crease.

After Legace's mishap, the official rolled up enough of the carpet so other players wouldn't have to step on it.

Legace described the injury as a strained left hip flexor. He doesn't believe it is serious but said it is painful. He said he won't play Saturday when the Blues host Florida, but wasn't sure if he'd miss any additional games.

"I felt a pull right away," Legace said. "I was hoping it would just go away."

2. I still think its friggen hilarious
That Palin thought the fans in Philly would be nice to her if she brought her child out on the ice with her.
Proof that she doesn't know a goddamned thing about Philly or its people.
They did an awesome job booing her!:D

3. Even their photo-ops go horribly wrong, this is truly amazing.
Honestly this sounds like something the Zuckers would have come up with back when they were sane and funny.

If I ran an NHL team in a battleground state, I would seriously think about sending out the checking line if Palin stepped out onto the ice.

(Of course, I also think the NHL is about 8 teams too big and needs a serious case of contraction and moving teams back to Canada. But that is for a whole new topic.)

8. Actually, I've been a Devils fan for 15 years now.

I have family in Jersey.

That said, I think the Devils' jerseys are awesome, I own one (bought at the Hockey Hall of Fame, which was super-cool) and I insist that they must trade for Miroslav Satan just to make money on the jerseys.

I mean, seriously, a Devils jersey with "SATAN" on the back? That owns.

4. First-hand experience: Hip flexor injuries are the worst.
It was bad enough for me, as an infielder - I can't imagine how a goalie can deal with that kind of pain. The amount of time they have to stay that low, and with all that equipment. Ouch.

Everything this woman touches turns to shit.

6. He's just fortunate she didn't whip out an assault rifle and
put him down, like she would with a wounded moose.

Or non-wounded moose, for that matter!
