I think the Phillies have a very good chance to win it all...
...mainly because no one is talking about them...in the AL it's all about the "bitter rivalry" and in the NL it's all about how hot the Dodgers are...not much ink on the Phillies, and flying under the radar can really help.

1. I've noticed that too, and it's actually bothered me a bit.
All these people who said that the Dodgers wouldn't stand a chance against the Cubs now seem to think that the Phils don't have a chance against the Dodgers. Who cares if our closer hasn't blown a save all year and we're something like 80-0 when leading after 8 innings? Who cares if we have a great offense with 3 guys who hit more than 30 homeruns this year? Who cares if we're almost as good on the road as we are at home? I do hear people mention some of this stuff, but it's like the Dodgers hot streak cancels it all out.

Ranting aside, I hope you're right and I'm glad you recognize that they're a very talented baseball team :toast:

5. You don't get this far without being a decent team, and the whole
media obsession with the Dodgers is foolish. You guys won the games you needed to down the stretch, and, as you said, are talented. That storyline, of course, now will change since you're up 2-1, but still it will be mainly about how the Dodgers are losing and not the Phillies winning because the media are twits. Congrats, though, I do think you're going to the Series now. :toast:

3. We're Halfway to the Series
I will be happy with one win in LA, but if we close it out there. . .even SWEETER.

I am starting to form travel plans from Indianapolis to Philadelphia for the parade, but very quietly...LOL

6. true dat
But the only thing the LA Dodgers have in common with that Red Sox team is Manny Ramirez and Derek Lowe. If the Phillies go up 3-0, I ain't worried about no comback from them.

10. Can't say as I'd blame you either.
We may not see a 3-0 comeback again in our lives.

Loved those cream colored uniforms from Friday's game. They are great looking duds! :)

17. I am especially happy you did it so quickly! All next year the rays
will be consumed with the thought that if it hadn't been for the weather, they coulda won, they were coming back, they were proud, yada, yada, yada, and they are so consumed with what might have been, they can't concentrate, go back to the cellar, and my Red Sox have one less team to worry about in the division!
