Sarah Palin: Not a Red Sox fan
While trying to win over a crowd in Jacksonville, Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin unintentionally rattled the New England electorate.

In the speech, she said she was rooting for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays over the Boston Red Sox in the American League Championship series.

"You know what that tells me, it tells me that the people in this area know a little something about turning an underdog into a victor," she said. "And we're counting on you to help us do that Nov. 4th."

1. She's trifling with the Red Sox nation!
I'm thinking she's unaware of the scope of their support. Not to mention the intensity.

2. Did Bible Spice say "Devil Rays", or was that the blogger's blooper?
One would think that, of all people, the "rapture ready" VP candidate would know that it's just "Rays" now. :eyes:

Would the Hockey Mom-in-Chief still say "Mighty Ducks"?

9. "Bible Spice"...I love it
I hadn't heard that before.

John Kerry played hockey and the right wing taunted him for it. Now we have a "hockey mom" and she's the greatest thing since sliced bread to them.

10. Yeah, I have to admit, that's pretty funny. I kept getting the Spice Girls' names confused...
with the Teletubbies' names.

Then I remembered that the black Spice was 'Scary' then the others fall into line.

3. It means 2 things...1, she's the anti-Christ, and 2..
...she's actually smart because New England is lost for Repukes, FL, not as of now.

5. First off, she's not rooting. She's rootin'. The 'g' is only pronounced by out-of-touch elitists.
Secondly, it's just the Rays now, not the Devil Rays. Dropping Satan's name from their team pleased God, and God has blessed 'em by sendin' 'em to the playoffs. You betcha.

11. Isn't Curt Schilling from Alaska?
Palin is just another bandwagon jumper. The Tampa Bay Rays don't need her support. The Tampa Bay Rays don't want her support. She can take Schilling and head on back to Alaska any time.
