Tampa Bay is a body of water. It's bad enough that the other recent expansion teams are named after states, but a body of water? I mean, really? The Chesapeake Bay Orioles? Puget Sound Mariners? Lake Michigan Cubs and/or White Sox?! :puke:

stadium if the Phillies had a payroll of less than 30 million (which Tampa did a couple of years ago), if the Phillies were consistently losing 100 games year after year, if the Phillies played in a shithole dome (have you been to Tropicana? I have) and if there was essentially no hope for the future?

The Marlins have made my Giants' lives hell in the playoffs, but I don't call Miami-Ft. Lauderdale a fraud city because they don't draw there.

Come on. If the Rays happen to win, it's because they deserve it. Their record this year speaks for itself.

They beat the Royals (AL west) in '80, but they lost to each of the current AL east teams once (Sox in '15, Yankees in '50, Orioles in '83, and Toronto in '93). The only (current) AL east team they haven't lost to in the WS is the Rays.
