I, for one, won't be sorry to see him go. It seems like he went from being just a goofball to being a Terrell Owens Loudmouth Asshole over the course of just a few weeks.

Anyone know what caused that?

Surprise! Manny to LA, Bay to Boston
Dodgers land slugger, Bucs get four players in last-minute deal

LOS ANGELES -- Manny Ramirez has gone Hollywood.

After years of threatening to trade Ramirez, the Red Sox finally decided that they had enough of Manny being Manny and shipped the recalcitrant left fielder to the Dodgers on Thursday in a three-way, under-the-wire Trade Deadline deal that included the Pirates.

<snip>

"The Red Sox don't deserve a player like me," Ramirez told ESPNdeportes.com on Wednesday. "During my years here, I've seen how they have mistreated other great players when they didn't want them to try to turn the fans against them."

"The Red Sox did the same with guys like Nomar Garciaparra and Pedro Martinez, and now they do the same with me. Their goal is to paint me as the bad guy," Ramirez added. "I love Boston fans, but the Red Sox don't deserve me. I'm not talking about money. Mental peace has no price, and I don't have peace here."

6. And in retrospect, the Sox did the right thing to get rid of Nomar
and to not resign Pedro. I hope this works out as well.

2. I was hopeful Ortiz coming back could calm Manny down...Big Papi
is a great guy, nothing bothers him, and I think he was a calming influence on Manny. But, like you, I'm happy he's gone.

3. That was Mrs R's hope, as well. She thought Papi could talk some sense into him.

5. And the one night Oriz comes back, Manny
seems to be worse. Maybe the injury kept him out too long?
