Why Lacrosse is for Democrats
Well, maybe. Take with a grain of salt, maybe more.

Why Lacrosse is for Democrats

Believe it or not, there is a correlation that the blue states tend to have the best lacrosse. There are many facts to support why living in a state with a Democratic majority will likely have decent high school and/or college lacrosse.
....

Take the two longstanding lacrosse hot bed states of Maryland and New York. They are both blue states. In every presidential election since 1992, both states have voted for the Democrat every single time.
....

Finally, the best example for Democrats and lacrosse is John Kerry, who ran for president in 2004 and played lacrosse in high school and college.

3. North Carolina and Louisiana
Before I read the article I was wondering how the author would deal with North Carolina in that Duke University is in North Carolina and Duke University is one of the best Lacrosse school in the country. As I read the article I wondered what type of Lacrosse program Louisiana has because Louisiana consistantly votes Republican. I was wondering if Louisiana would be included in the red states that had either good or growing Lacrosse programs.

I am not trying to bash the author of this piece, but I think he gets more to why Democratic leaning states ten to have better Lacrosse program than red leaning states near the end of his piece. Democratic states tend to take in more money and tend to spend more money on programs like Lacrosse. The red states on the other hand either do not have money to do such things or do not want to spend the money to invest in programs like Lacrosse.

4. Boy, that's a stretch
Lacrosse is most popular in the Northeast. The Northeast is solidly Blue. Ergo, most lax-positive states are Blue. Q.E.D.

Hawaii is a blue state that hosts a big lacrosse tournament every year.

 That tournament is the only time the word "lacrosse" is ever uttered out here. Ever. No high school or college lax AT ALL.

5. Sounds like it was written by Miss South Carolina Teen USA
What a wobble job. It started out weak and pathetic, then declined steadily.

Is this paragraph for real?

"States that are in between being Democrat and Republican all have a decent amount of lacrosse: Nevada (high school lacrosse), Arkansas (Hendrix College), Missouri (high school and college teams), Tennessee (high school and college teams), Kentucky (high school and college teams), Ohio (high school and college teams), West Virginia has some high school teams and Division II Wheeling Jesuit, Louisiana has a little bit of high school lacrosse. One could reason that its the Democrats in these states that are assisting in building lacrosse programs."
