More Shoulder Trouble for Mark Prior
Prior pitched only 2 innings yesterday and complained of pain in his shoulder afterwards...

Well, Mark "Calfzilla" Prior is finished. Opening every season since 2004 on the DL, year-after-year of work on his mechanics, towel throwing, 85 mph fastballs this year. I don't think Prior will pitch for the Cubs every again.

<cough cough> Steriods...

1. When Prior and Wood came up, I remember a Cubs critic
who predicted that the Cubs would ruin them by over-use within 3 years.

My Cubs-fanatic son - who was maybe 8 at the time - was furious to the point of tears when he heard that. Now, he just shrugs.

2. To be fair Wood was damaged goods
before he even signed with the Cubs.

3. Yes he was
His HS coach overused him to win the Texas High School baseball championship. The Cub brass was not happy about that but there was nothing they could really do since he wasn't oficially property of the Cubs.

4. I remember my friend Brian
who is a Cubs fan telling me about his high school days. Heard it was not uncommon for Kerry to pitch both ends of double headers.

The message to youngsters should be clear. Take as much 'Roids as possible it'll get you drafted high and earn you a large amount of money even if your ligaments, tedons and bones are turned into mush.
