It was great until that. I hate to see a DQ, but Shamrock deserved it, and he was an ass afterwards. He even admitted that the knee was intentional.

7. Shamrock is so arrogant..

he would get squashed by todays top fighters. prototype my ass. and Gracie was winnig that fight. i really did not like that standup alert or whatever they called it.

i was surprised by Loiseus (sp?) lackluster performance.

Didn't know that about UFC owning. Are they gonna use it as a minor leagues? that may be interesting.

9. The funny thing is that if knees were allowed on the ground, Renzo would have KO'd him in the 1st.

Renzo had side control a lot. If knees were allowed to the head there, like in Pride, I think he would have KO'd Shamrock. However, when Frank uses the illegal knees on the ground, he bitches about Renzo not coming to fight.

Almost ruined a great event.


BTW....the women's fight was awesome....probably fight of the night.

10. EliteXC is screwed

Up until a couple weeks ago even Shamrock who was involved in the inner workings of the promotion, didn't know if they were using a cage or not. They got the bonehead American Pride announcers and Bill "I couldn't even outwrestle a half my size Chris Jericho backstage in a WWE shoot" Goldberg to dumb it down and frankly the Renzo-Shamrock fight was already years beyond anyone caring. The ending was the worst imaginable scenario for this group.

I thought it was funny that the fucking RING ANNOUNCER Jimmy Lennon had to explain the rules of DQs to Herb Dean.

Dana White must have been laughing his ass off over this. At some point people will have to realize this is NOT an MMA boom, this is an UFC boom. Pride's PPV buyrates are not good and there isn't enough interest in the other groups to make a feasible dent in UFC.
