Bill Belichick, voodoo master, has a surprise in store for the Colts
The tarp was left off the playing field at Foxboro Stadium all day Wednesday, through a driving rain, and all day today, through a dense fog. It will apparently be left off again tomorrow, through another day of rain and fog. By the time the Colts speedster receivers take the field, the ground will have the consistency of gumbo.

The Colts are used to playing inside. The Pats are used to playing in all kinds of insane weather, with the field in all kinds of insane condition. Last year, the temperature at halftime of their first playoff game was twenty degrees below zero with the wind chill. I know. I was there.

Advantage: Patriots.

I'm just sayin'.

1. Oh yah, Bill is a shrewd man and this is further proof of that fact.
Go Pat's! They're gonna need all the help they can get with a dessimated secondary facing a very, very impressive Colt's team. I believe Peyton is on a mission and this could be the year of the Colt's. I hope not though.

4. Slow it down Bill!
no-one is going anywhere! Is it going to help. Don't know.

It will be a slush fest. Unless there is snow and the snowplow guy comes out before a field goal and cleans the field.

It did happen against miami tho.

6. its not the speedsters that matter
This is Peyton's game. If he can protect the ball and not throw picks it is going to be a long and competetive game that is not decided until the fourth quarter.

7. I think Manning is looking at those crappy CB's..
the Pats have on the field and salivating. I'm pretty sure he isn't worried about a little gamesmanship by the Patriots. Could be a blowout by the Colts.

9. Hmm, not very sporting of him.
Obviously, he fears the Colts, and may even think they're the better team.

14. Better team?
That may depend on where they play. And Bill may understand that. The better team is the team that wins. Period.

10. Is he bringing back the snow plow guy?
You remember the guy who drove out in a little john deere snow plow to clear a spot for the pats to kick a field goal against the dolphins to win the game.

11. That was great
An ex-con on parole, who did it on his own. Great New England sports story. :)

12. So is this home field advantage or is it unethical?
The point being that the NFL stipulates that it's the home team's responsibility to provide a professional caliber facility. Of course, both teams will be playing under the same conditions, but it is favoring the one team more than the other?

Now that the Packers are out, I just want to see some fun games, and this looks like it's going to be one of the best. I love to watch mud bowls like they used to have in the 60's!

15. Home field advantage.
If domes are allowed in the NFL, then there's nothing wrong with this.

13. Go Patriots!
It's football, not chess. I hate domed stadiums and wish they were banned for the sport. Football is supposed to be played in the elements, not in some pristine, climate controlled facility. The last time I checked, the Patriots are playing on the same field. If the Colts wanted to play in their stupid bubble, they should have taken care of business during the season. It's not the Patriots fault that Indy plays inside during the year. I'm very interested to see how Belichik will jerryrig a secondary that can stop Manning as well, since both Law and Poole are out.
