22. I wouldn't bet the farm
on the Lions, either. I think Vikings, but I will admit I am OVERLY biased. Maybe the Bears. NOT the Lions.

4. Hmmm...the NFC East is wrong. The Redskins shall prevail...
and I think the Dolphins will surprise some folks.

7. As much as I hate the Cowboys...
...I think he's right. Say what you want, but TO has always been a difference-maker, and this is a team that needed one on offense.

19. Hate to disagree,
TO most certainly is a difference maker, just like cancer.

Can't wait til Bledsoe misses TO on a pass play.

6. I think the Lions will be the surprise team in the NFL this year.
Edited on Thu Jul-27-06 07:55 AM by Sentinel Chicken
Philly may make a wild card slot but not Arizona. The Giants, Skins or the Bucs are more likely choices if they aren't division champs outright.

(on edit) I hope TO blows up the Cowboys.

8. Come on, the NY Giants
at least make the wild card although that's going to be a very tough division.

11. Geez, I can barely remember the names of the teams
I guess it's closer than I think.

I hope my Dolphins can live up to the higher expectations, but much simpler to go from 5-11 to 9-7 than make the next step. Especially since the 9-7 was tardy and perhaps a bit phony.

17. Those were great wins but the most relevant numbers were so-so
Point differential was +1. That's one point more than we allowed, over 16 games. San Diego missed the playoffs despite being more than +100 in that category and Kansas City was also way up there. It's always an important reference point.

In net passing, Miami was +0.1 yards per attempt, what we gained offensively compared to allowing defensively. That's probably the most vital stat in football, especially in regard to likely postseason success. Indy led the league at +2.4 and Pittsburgh was next at +2.3. That looked like the real Super Bowl on paper and probably turned out that way. Carolina was third at +1.7 and Seattle fourth at +1.4. So you can see how that number isolates the teams who head toward February.

We have a big chance if Culpepper can put up 7+ yards per attempt. And if Mularkey gets the rushing attempts up, 28+ per game. I'd rather have the proper dosage and balance to succeed in the playoffs, than just get there with an imbalanced team, like Chicago did last year.

25. Finally, somebody matching my skepticism on the Dolphins
I see a decent offense, but I wonder who's gonna block for Ronnie. Zach and JT are getting up there in years and there's not a decent cornerback in sight - although I may be too harsh on Allen. I think they need one more reloading year before they're actually ready to compete.

Edited on Sat Jul-29-06 03:24 PM by Jack Rabbit
I predict the 46ers will suck eggs. You can bet the farm on that, too.

Now for what's really important: who is going to beat the Dallas Cowboys? I don't care who beats the Cowboys.

20. I don't see too many calls for the San Diego Chargers
They look like a sleeper team to me. They are better and deeper than last year, I even dislike them bolts but seeings how Oakland is just stopped the bleeding and the Donkeys haven't found another Elway. Also K.C.'s new head coach seems out to lunch, I am betting on the bolts to make it to the AFC title game at least (in spite of having Shotyhimer).
