Out of Wedlock Children and NBA Players

Call me stupid or crazy, but I did not know that out of wedlock children was as big of a problem as it is in the NBA. Tonight I was at the store looking at magazines and say that the Mad magazine had slight mock article about the NBA. It was an A to Z type article with each alaphabet representing something in the NBA. For C the word was children. The magazine talked about how some basketball players had lots of children. I decided to do some google searches using the words nba playes and children. As a result, I learned that Shawn Kemp has at least seven kids with seven different women and that Larry Johnson had five kids, three of which are not with his wife. I also found an article by Sports Illutrated which reported that one sports agent claimed that there may be more out of wedlock children than players in the NBA.

I always knew the guys slept around; however, I just for some reason never thought there were so many out of wedlock children. I guess since I did not hear about it in the media that much I figured it did not happen that much.

Probably 8-9 years ago. Pretty damning, and it did make the sports talk show rounds at the time.

2. Larry Bird has a grown daughter that was born out of wedlock.

He refuses to have a relationship with her. She is the spitting image of him. He's a dick.

3. This doesn't surprise me...remember when Magic came out as HIV+

He said there were women waiting at the hotel rooms for them (when they were on the road), and would do anything for them. As a result, he estimated he had over 200 partners. I'm not sure it's like that for other sports professionals.

4. Willie Anderson

Has TEN kids out of wedlock. When he tried to get his deferred salary from my San Antonio Spurs, it all went to child support.
