Will the Pistons ever get any respect?
21-3, best record in the country, playing the defending champions and ABC goes for the 'glamor' with the Kobe-Shaq matchup as its marquee game on Christmas Day. I read a comment in the paper today comparing it to U2 opening for Jennifer Lopez. I agree.

1. Considering your Pistons lost the Finals last year, be happy that game
was at home. You'd think the Spurs would play ONE Christmas home game all these years but no. Talk about a lack of respect.

The Pistons are the best team in the league right now, you'll have to settle for that.

3. Can't stand him? Why?
He's a very nice fella, from all accounts.

4. I can't explain it
except I have seen the way he interacts with Kevin Garnet (who is my MAN LOL) and am not impressed.

5. LOL...ok.
Tim's actually a good guy. Well-spoken, intelligent. The kind of guy we'd like all pro athletes to be. But yeah comes off as aloof sometimes.

6. LOL
Kevin Garnet comes off as intense, but he really is a kind man, and is also well spoken. He is one of the rare few who came out of HS directly to the NBA and still went to school and got his degree.

I am in awe of him funding the building of 24 houses in the Gulf Coast over the next two years. KG is my MVP.

7. I'm hearing the same ? from my fellow Pistons faithful around here.
I write it off as the inability of folks to overlook gaudy stats. Wins as a team doesn't seem to count as much(to many folks, anyway) as having the leading scorers. Phoenix sure got a lot of hype last year due to all the scoring. They didn't make it to the finals.

I don't think the Pistons, even if they set the regular season wins record(but that's a long way off at this point)and win their 2nd championship in 3 seasons, would rank in a lot of folks "Top 5 All Time Teams" list. If they meet those conditions they should rank that high. But there are many who still see this era of the NBA to be wanting, thus they devalue the championships won in this era.
Me, I'm just enjoying it. The now is the best now I can have. Damned be respect.

8. They're fun to watch, that's for sure...
I wish the Lions would take a cue from the Pistons and get a GOOD front office guy who knows what he's doing. Joe Dumars has been wonderful for this team because he believes in team first and individual players second. The stats he cares about are wins and he passes that down to the coaches and players. As it should be.

9. Yeah, Flip allows them to try to score more. That's fun.
And they still play great D.

Give props to Joe D., but don't forget to credit Carlisle and Brown. They did a great job molding this team into form, too.

As for the Lions, I'm at a loss. If you've never caught on in my previous posts, I'm a Packers fan(and owner). Grandparents were Yoopers, Grandpa passed the gene on down the line. But I follow the Lions pretty closely(I wouldn't mind seeing them win a Super Bowl, as long as the Pack is having a down year), I've heard all the theories on why the Lions can never win, and I still can't make heads or tails of the situation. But the person responsible for the next Lions championship will be, immediately, bronzed.
