The Pro Bowl.....
Once again, some are deserving, while others are nothing but a popularity contest. Do people look at stats when these picks are made?

1. Sending Vick is a joke.
Mark Brunell should have gone in his stead.

2. Yeah, that was a joke.....
...Vanden Bosch DE for the Titans got ripped off. He should have gone.

5. Brunell
isn't very good either. The NFC QBs aren't very good this year.

6. I agree but he's better than Vick by a pretty wide margin statistically.
Rating, TD passes, Yards, Ints, etc.

Vick is just way overrated and overhyped, he is not even a good QB let alone all-pro.

7. I don't disagree
but Brunell is immensely unimpressive to me.

8. To me as well.
I just feel he was more deserving than Ron Mexico. I would have accepted (and I loathe to say this) Bledsoe over him as well who has similar stats to Brunell. They're all just holding McNabb's spot anyway.

9. Eli
will take that slot next year as he takes the next step. Actually, both McNabb and Eli will be there.

10. I agree.
Getting the year under his belt and a little playoff experience will definitely help him. He's going to be good.

11. It will be the Eagles and Giants
in the future because they are the only two teams in the division that have their QB position stabalized for the future.

12. True. And they both have decent to very good cap situations.
Jones and that dope Snyder have their teams capped out for years still.

13. I believe
the Skins are 20 million over the cap for next year. I love the position the Giants are in. Lots of young productive players. I wonder if the Eagles will spend some money next year.

14. They have to.
With T.O. out of the picture they'll have a good 30-35 million to spend. I'd like to see them grab Moulds, Abraham and Julian Peterson from free agency and take a DT in the first round of the draft. Get right back on the horse. Of course, they always win the cap bowl every year and they don't care much for linebackers so it's up in the air as to what they'll do. They're going to spend money, just where they spend it is going to be the issue.

Good luck to you guys the rest of the way.

15. they won't get all those guys
they are more likely to go after value guys. They may grab a RB in free agency. They won't give big money to a linebacker over 30. Moulds is possible.

16. I know. That's just what I would like to see.
It would cover just about all the holes.

Getting a big back for short yardage is a must as well. I'm sick of seeing passes on third and short.

21. I agree, there's nothing wrong with civility.
The nonsense that goes on at the games and on the boards is ridiculous.

You have a good holiday and again, good luck to you the rest of the season.

Trotter got in over Pierce? BS!
Eli, should have gotten in over Vick, and wil lbe there in the future. ANd what happened to Plexico? Why is he not in.
Oh, and Jeff Feagles should be punter. He is one of the best punters I've ever seen.

but he isn't a pro bowler. Too many drops to be that. Eli isn't there yet. He'll be there next year. I agree on Feagles.

17. Not to beat a dead horse...
Edited on Fri Dec-23-05 12:11 AM by realisticphish
but Vick definately doesn't belong. He is good on his feet (well, kind of; see the last few games), but he is NOT a good quarterback. One cannot just scramble and expect to win. That's just the way it is. He's only in it because of the ESPN "fact" that he is incredible

edit: to be fair, the AFC looked about right to me, though I would make a case for Houshmandzadeh (who IMHO has been one hell of a workhorse for the bengals) but that's probably just orange tinted goggles

24. Being "named" to go, is the honor....
...that's why it's a travesty when someone who doesn't deserve it, is picked to go, while some who should be "named", aren't.

27. Vick is horrible...
He's become a much worse version of Randall Cunningham.

I know the Bears sent 5 but Alex Brown very easily could have gotten a nod and deserved it as well.
