Dave Wannstedt's halftime adjustment theory
"We need to run faster."

I'm dead serious, that was his summation a few minutes ago on ESPN while being interviewed after the first half ended, with Pitt down 21-13. No doubt that quote will get heavy play and snickers in the next few days. Maybe he can co-author a football strategy book with Herm Edwards.

1. The actual quote
They just showed the replay during the 4th quarter of the Pitt game. Wannstedt said, "We just gotta run faster, it's that simple."

3. Actually...Pornstache (Wanny) Can't Hold a Candle To Former Pitt Coach...
Walt Harris in the quote department. During his press conference following the 2003 Continental Tire Bowl in Charlotte, Harris answered a question by saying "hindsight is 50/50."

4. I once listened to a Walt Harris press conference this season
after Stanford got waxed by the Ducks. He said he told the team that there was nothing they could do because Oregon had better athletes. He's Mr. Inspiration.
