The Official Alex "MVP" Rodriguez is still a putz thread!
I kind of figured he'd win, but God, he is such a putz! I've loathed hime since I lived in Seattle and he left for Texas. I loved it when he came back to play and a fan dangled a dollar bill from a fishing pole in front of him to see if he'd take the bait. It was hilarious!

Congratulations A-Rod, you girly-slapping, never-gonna-win-the World-Series PUTZ!

2. Admit it! If he wasn't on the Skankees you wouldn't like him!
Anyway, my point still stands--he'll never win the Series with the Yankees!

:hi:

4. My point--the Yankees need to go through a few lean years, grrom
some kids from the minors, and STOP paying a fortune for great players who are past their prime and don't have the drive anymore! Seriously, lots of talent, no desire. The Yankees will be contenders for the AL EAst every year, but they won't go farther than that unless they heed my advice!

Think they will??? ;-)

5. The Yanks need a CF, one good starter, and a reliever.
That's about it.

8. I still say it's the desire that's missing....
...need to get young guys who really want it, who are hungry. The guys they have now are too satisfied.

10. Cano is hungry
I liked Soriano, thought he had the goods but of course we wouldn't have A-Rod if the Yanks didn't trade Soriano away. Oh well.

6. The Yanks need to find some
home grown talent--agree.

The Yanks need to stop paying a fortune for players past their prime--agree

The Yanks need to find more heart and desire--somewhat agree.
Would've have totally agreed after last year's collapse to the Sox but during the last few months of this season I thought the Yanks WERE playing with desire and heart.

I think they can get further than this year. Everything has to work out though-pitching, hitting, defense.
The Yanks were too inconsistent this year even during the last month when they battled back into first place.

They would hit well and then the pitching would tank. They would pitch great and they couldn't get any hits...things like that. But that is true for every team--the need to be consistent.

7. I think the Yankees had the goal of simply beating the Sox for the
AL East crown--which--they did--to kind of make up for last season. But they should have and could have beatne the Angels. It was kind of like after taking the AL East crown, they lost their fizz.

9. Well that was good redemption
but that shouldn't be their main goal. Their main goal should be winning the Series.

11. You're right--that should be their main goal, but my point is that it
wasn't...they just don't really have the desire--too many old, very satisifed guys. They need young ones who are hungry.

12. Agree.
I think A-Rod is hungry to get a ring though, although he didn't show it in the Angels series.

20. Maybe
I disagree with you slightly. I think they could win; however, I think the problem is not drive, but a lack of team work. Some of the people on the team only care about themselves and constantly criticize their teammates. I think their is a large amount of desire on the team. They only problems are the the members of the team are really old and have big egos.

these guys are getting paid a gazillion dollars, really want for nothing. And a lot alrady have a Series ring.

Anyway, we'll see in the next few years.

13. In fairness to A-Rod, the entire Yankee team sucked in the posteason.
And Big Papi's team got swept.

14. Wow, I'd expect that from a slap nuts Bosox fan
What's the matter? DH's don't win the MVP. Even Mo Vaughn played 1st base when he won it.

You Bosox fans almost orgasmed all over yourselves when you thought the Rangers would trade him to the Red Sox. Now, he's on the Yankees and you hate him.

Face it. . .it will be another 86 years before the Blow Sox do anything other than suck.

16. Hey, buddy, nice use of a trite cliche
And I'm from NY (live in Arizona now). I am a Mets fan and had to deal with the Bosox fans bullshit in 1986. I developed my loathing for that team and their fans in 1986.

I loathe all Boston teams and loathe their fans more. Their fans whine and complain when they lose and gloat when the win.

I'm glad the Patriots suck this year. I'm glad the Bosox will suck next year.

The only good sports thing to ever come out of a Boston team was Roger Clemens.

19. Yeah, Go A-Rod!
You so deserved it over a god-damn DH! DH's don't do crap, but sit on the beach and get 3-4 Abs.
The Yankees are very close to winning next year. All we need is a few palyers. Boston will never win, cause they suck!!!
I've argued with enough Sox fans over this, and I and the Yanks always win (except in the year that won't be menitoned)
Although A-Rod sucked in the postseason, the Yanks' did better than the Sox, and will forevecer.
Go A-Rod, Go jeter, Go Yankees!!!
(I live with all this debating every year. Most of my family are from Boston, and I spend a lot of time up there, including during the WS of "that year that won't be talked about.")

25. You Should Focus On Your Team Imploding Instead of Riding ARod
The Red Sox are in deep, deep trouble. Theo is gone. Manny wants out or he will be a cancer on the team (See T.O.). Damon wants a fortune and a 1,000 year contract. Wells wants out. No one knows what Schill will bring. You don't have a closer. You don't have a third baseman.

The Sox are far more chaotic than the Yanks are right now.
