American interest in Liverpool
This doesn't look too good to me. Why on eath would Liverpool want to move out of Anfield anyway?

Liverpool are reported to be in talks with American billionaire Robert Kraft about a major investment in the club. Chief executive Rick Parry has met with Kraft, who is owner of American Football team New England Patriots.

Proposals are said to either involve long-time chairman and major shareholder David Moores diluting his stake, or handing over the rights to name the proposed new stadium, as Arsenal have done with airline Emirates.

There have been plans for a stadium at Stanley Park, close to Anfield, for some time but the cost, estimated between £70 million and £120 million, is thought to have hampered progress.

Last year, talks with Thaksin Shinawatra, the prime minister of Thailand, ended without investment.

1. One of the things I love about the EPL
are the relatively small size of the stadiums and the proximity of the fans to the field. this is contrast to italy and soith america where it seems the stadiums are so huge and rarely filled and the fans a mile away from the pitch. i also hate the recent trend of naming the stadium after a corporate sponsor. higbury will now be emirates stadium. yuck.

2. Because other teams are building US-like stadiums with club levels...
seat licenses, etc.

I think it's a CRIME for them to leave Anfield. A CRIME.

But the same anti-fan stadium crap - which the Dallas Cowboys started I'll add - is spreading across the Atlantic.

Don't the English learn only our bad habits???

3. I still can't see any good reason for Liverpool to leave Anfield
It's still a great ground with a lot of history. I'd be hugely annoyed if my own team (Sheffield Wednesday) tried to move stadiums and part of me suspects that Liverpool fans might not be too keen on moving either.
